Pharmacological properties

The drug has antianemic properties due to the iron-containing complex.
Bioferon Forte is quickly absorbed and easily released in the body ensuring effective prevention and treatment of iron-deficiency anemia.
Administration
Treatment and prevention of iron-deficiency anemia in sows, piglets, calves and lambs.
Dosage
The drug is administered orally with the first portion of colostrum or administered intramuscularly once in the thigh or neck in the following doses:
Doses for prevention (per animal, ml):
- piglets (starting from the 3rd-4th day of life): 1.0 intramuscularly;
- calves (on the 1st day of life): 6.0-7.0 orally with the first colostrum portion;
- Lambs (starting from the 5th-6th day of life): 1.0 intramuscularly
If necessary, use the drug in the same doses also on the 10th-14th day of life;
Doses for treatment (per animal, ml):
- piglets - 1.5 intramuscularly;
- lambs - 1.0 intramuscularly;
- sows (in 15-20 days prior to farrowing) - 6.0 intramuscularly.
Treat animals based on presence of clinical features of anemia as well as unsatisfactory clinical and hematological factors (hemoglobin and hematocrit levels). The drug may be used in combination with other therapeutic products of other pharmacological effect.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to drug components.
Precautions
Side effect:
If the drug is administered in recommended doses, side effects do not appear.
Possible allergic reactions. In case of allergic reactions, the drug is discontinued and antihistamines are prescribed to the animal; if necessary, administer symptomatic treatment.
The drug is not prescribed in sub-therapeutic doses.
Special precautions for administration:
Do not administer to animals with hypersensitivity to drug components.
Excretion (withdrawal) period: none.
Packaging
Glass vials of 50 and 100 ml sealed with rubber stoppers and aluminum caps.
Storage
Store in original packaging in a dry, dark place out of the reach of children at 5-30 °С.
Shelf life - 2 years.
Use the drug within 28 days following the initial withdrawal from the vial provided it is stored in a dry, dark place at 2-8 С.
