Pharmacological properties

ATC vet QP51 - antiprotozoals. QP51AX30 — combinations of other antiprotozoals.

The drug antiprotozoal effect is due to the synergism of active substances - maduramycin ammonium (ionophore antibiotic) and nicarbazin (dinitrocarbanilide derivative), their low concentrations of which provide effective antiemerious action. Use of Nicamax® is more effective than use of maduramycin ammonium and nicarbazin alone.

Maduramycin is an eimeriostatic group of iontophores, active against eimeria (Eimeria tenella, E acervulina, E. necatrix, E. mivati, E. maxima, E. brunetti)) at the stages of sporozoites, trophozoites and schizoids of the first generation. The mechanism of drug action is to disrupt the transport of Na + and K + monovalent ions across the parasite cell membrane its subsequent death.

Nicarbazin is a synthetic agent, a complex of 4,4'-dinitrodiphenylurea (DNC) and 2-hydro-4,6-dimethylpyrimidine (HDP), inhibiting energy metabolism in the parasite body.

Administration

Prevention and treatment of broiler chickens with eimeriosis caused by eimeria: Е. tenella, E. acervulina, Е. maxima,Е. necatrix, Е. mivati and Е. brunetti.

Dosage

Nicamax® drug is administered to broiler chickens with feed at a dose of 0.5 kg per 1 t of feed from the first day of life during the rearing period, excluding from the diet 5 days before slaughter.
